YALLA EAT! culinary walking tours
DETROIT'S EASTERN MARKET
1 p.m. Tuesdays & 10 a.m. Saturdays
May 30-June 13, 2015
Yalla Eat! (Yalla is Arabic for "Let’s go!") is a one-of-a-kind culinary experience offered only by the AANM.
Through guided walking tours along Warren Avenue in East Dearborn and at Detroit's historic Eastern Market, participants will learn how Arab American merchants first established themselves in the earliest days of Eastern Market and how they began to revitalize Dearborn's Warren Avenue shopping district in the early 1980s, turning vacant storefronts into a thriving cultural retail destination.
Participants will also explore the diverse current offerings of Arab and Middle Eastern food businesses along Warren Avenue and throughout Eastern Market.
