Director Davis Guggenheim eloquently weaves the science of global warming with Al Gore's personal history and lifelong commitment to reversing the effects of global climate change in the most talked-about documentary of 2006.
An audience and critical favorite, An Inconvenient Truth makes the compelling case that global warming is real, man-made, and its effects will be cataclysmic if we don’t act now. Gore presents a wide array of facts and information in a thoughtful and compelling way: often humorous, frequently emotional, always fascinating. In the end, An Inconvenient Truth accomplishes what all great films should: it leaves the viewer shaken, involved and inspired.
The film earned two Academy Awards in 2007 including Best Documentary Film.
(USA; PG; 100 mins.; English)
This event is presented in conjunction with Watch Your Waste, a joint program of the Arab American National Museum and the Children’s Museum Jordan in Amman, Jordan.
The two museums have joined forces to engage Jordanian and American youth in the creation of the Watch Your Waste e-Museum, an online platform to share information and images they collect as they research the ways voluminous trash puts a heavy burden on our planet and how our daily consumption practices contribute to the problem.
Watch Your Waste is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State's Museums and Community Collaborations Abroad program, administered by the American Association of Museums
