FREE Workshop for Midwestern Educators

Friday, July 17 through Sunday, July 19, 2009

Auditorium, Lower Level

Free; open to educators based in the Midwestern United States

NOTE: THIS WORKSHOP IS ALREADY AT CAPACITY. HOWEVER, WE ARE TAKING NAMES FOR A SIMILAR FUTURE SESSION THAT WILL INVOLVE A SMALL REGISTRATION FEE. PLEASE CONTACT US (phone/email below) TO ADD YOUR NAME TO THE LIST.

The Arab American National Museum (AANM) is offering a significant professional development opportunity - at no cost - to educators in the Midwestern United States.

Through a grant from the Institute for Museum and Library Services, the AANM presents a free three-day summer workshop to enhance educators' knowledge of the Arab World, Arab Americans and Islam.

The grant covers the workshop registration fee as well as attendees' transportation, food and lodging costs. CEUs will be offered to those who attend.

The workshop takes place on the same weekend as the 17th Concert of Colors, a free diversity-themed music festival in downtown Detroit that celebrates ethnicity and culture through music. The AANM is a presenting partner for Concert of Colors. Watch for an announcement of this year's lineup later this spring at www.concertofcolors.com. Educators are encouraged to attend this lively Detroit musical tradition as part of their workshop experience.
