Call for Artists

Call for Papers

The Arab American National Museum (AANM) has an opportunity for artists to display their work, and help fill a case in our permanent exhibits.

The AANM is asking for Arab American artists, to create an original work based on traditional “ Ahlan wa sahlan ” اهلا و سهلا(welcome) signs found in many Arab American homes. Contributed works may be added to a case in our permanent gallery entitled Living in America, which deals with keeping family traditions alive in the United States.

While we are welcoming works of any size, they must fit in a specific fixed case. The maximum dimensions should be no more than:

Height: 70 in

Width: 65 in

Depth: 5 in

Please feel free to work in any safe and durable medium, including ceramic, charcoal, fabric, ink, mosaic, metals, paint, pencil, watercolor, wood and much more.

Please make all submissions by December 20, 2009.

To participate, or for further information, please call: Suzy Adra Mazloum at 313.624.0229 or email:
