In ancient times (3000 years ago) a mosaic was made from glass and rock. Modern times (a few hundred years ago) began the art of wooden mosaic developed in Damascus, Syria. This mosaic art form uses mother of pearl, walnut, rose, lemon, peach & other woods in intricate geometric designs (called Arabesque).
Created in Syria this approximate 4 1/2 X 7 inch rectangular mosaic veneer inlaid box is a great resting place for your treasures. It will complement any desktop or bureau and be treasured by all. Lined in soft burgundy and hinged and slightly rounded top, it’s sure to be a keepsake.
