Created by hand in Tunisia to reflect the creativity and culture through the use of color & design. Traditional design perfect for the contemporary home in shades of cobalt blue, vibrant oranges and hints of green on a field of white. Hand-thrown & hand- painted ceramic with lead free glaze a generous 14 inch serving bowl. Named in part for the beautful Tunisian seaside town of Tabarka where the red tile roofs of the Mediterranean beach bungalows dot the coastline, the Tabarka pattern is an elaborate blend of the Italian, French and Arabic styles that throughout history have also shaped it's namesake city.
With an ideal climate and a long and gentle coastline, Tunisia is the northernmost country in Africa, nestled just across the Mediterranean Sea from Italy. Tunisia has, for over 2000 years, witnessed the passage of Phoenicians, Romans, Vandal, Byzantines, Turks, Spanish and French. They came as fugitives and adventurers, to conquer and claim, as warriors and missionaries, traders and farmers, each leaving behind a part of their culture there on the threshold of the Sahara.
