The entire program is FREE!

· Professional Photographers from the College for Creative Studies (CCS) will teach students how to take quality photos.

· Digital cameras will be provided to students to use for their take-home assignments during the program (once they turn in all required forms).

Some topics to be covered include: citizenship, democracy, civic participation, appreciation of diversity, identity, culture, traditions, religion, travel, sports, dance, music, and food.

Another exciting part of SURA Arts Academy is how students get to share their work:

· Classmates and Photographers will critique their work and provide valuable feedback.

· Students in the Detroit program and our sister program in Amman, Jordan will have an opportunity to share their photos online at Flickr.com during the program. This photo sharing website includes a feature for students in both countries to comment on each other’s work.

· At the end of the program, photographs from each student will be displayed in an exhibit that will begin at the Arab American National Museum and travel to local schools.
